Comparing it with OnePlus 8 launched earlier, the phone has better specs in almost every way. Lets dive deep into it and find out more about it. Read On.

OnePlus 8T Overview:

The OnePlus 8T lacks a headline feature or spec upgrade that makes it really stand out compared to its 8-series siblings, but OnePlus has taken everything that made those phones fantastic, and fashioned improvements in key areas to create its best handset yet.

Design and Display:

OnePlus 8T Design and Display

OnePlus 8T comes with a 6.55 inches AMOLED HDR10+ display. It supports a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio. However, OnePlus 8 Pro is better in terms of screen size and resolution than the OnePlus 8T. It has a peak brightness of 1100 nits and has corning gorilla glass protection. It has an under-display fingerprint sensor.

On the design side, OnePlus has shaken things up by adding a new Aquamarine Green color and changing the position of the rear camera block. The obvious spec is refresh rate, where the OnePlus 8T inherits the 120Hz refresh rate of the OnePlus 8 Pro. The phone has got a Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back with an aluminum frame. It comes in two variants of colors: Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.

Performance and Battery:

OnePlus 8T is powered by the same Snapdragon 865 processor as the 8. Depending on the place, we get a choice of 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of non-expandable storage. There’s sub-6GHz 5G support, but no millimeter wave.

The battery capacity of the smartphone is 4500mAh which is better than 4300mAh that of OnePlus 8. It comes with a 65W warp charger that charges the battery from 0 to 60% in 15 min and 0-100% in just 39 in which is an improvement over the OnePlus 8’s 30W Charging tech. Also, for the safety reason, it has added temperature sensors and extra encryption chip. This gives prominent battery operation with a maximum output 0f 65W.

OnePlus 8T comes with Android 11 as standard, augmented by the company’s own Oxygen OS 11 software. Besides, it is the first smartphone from OnePlus to feature an always-on display.

Camera:

A 16MP ultra-wide lens is the widest lens used by the company to come with a 123° wide-angle view. Likewise, the other two lenses are a 5MP macro lens that can capture the object from a 3cm distance and a 2MP depth sensor. It uses an AI that can detect a human and blur the surrounding.

The front camera is 16MP, which houses in a punch hole at the top left of the phone.

Early Verdict:

The OnePlus 8T does not possess radical improvement over the OnePlus 8 but seems impressive. With an impressive display, decent battery life, and camera, the OnePlus 8T seems great for those who are seeking premium features at an affordable price. However, there’s no IP rating for dust or water resistance, also no wireless charging if you are fond of any.
