Google Pixel 4A: Google’s Midrange Phone with the best camera for money
Google’s Pixel mid-range phone raises the bar for the finest camera phone at this price segment phones. The midrange smartphone segment bears one more competition. With the likes of iPhone SE (2020), OnePlus Nord, Samsung A51; this Google’s handsome budget product is likely to show its presence. Despite the phone’s camera, other specs are not as significant but it is considerable. That is to say, we have our preferences.
Design and Display:
The body itself is plastic with the fingerprint sensor on the back. It feels sturdy enough., Google kept the 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. Something that’s usually cut at this price point. You can get any color you want as long as it’s black. Google uses cutesy names for its paint colors, and the “just black” branding here is right on the money. The power button is a nice sea-foam green, nevertheless.
The Google Pixel 4a sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED display. It has a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner with a single selfie Camera and slim bezels all around. The display supports HDR+ and a standard 60Hz refresh rate., it comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 443ppi pixel density.
Performance and Battery:
The Pixel 4A features a Snapdragon 730G chipset and 6GB of RAM which is a major upgrade from the Pixel 3a. Comparing it with the Galaxy A51, and iPhone SE(2020) it outperforms the Galaxy A51. However, iPhone SE has a ridiculous advantage over the Pixel in terms of its processor with its proprietary A13 Bionic processor.
Likewise, the most important specification is battery life. The Google Pixel 4A has a 3,140mAh battery i.e. larger than the one on the smaller Pixel 4. Combining that larger battery with that more power-efficient Snapdragon 730G processor you end up with acceptable battery life.
When it comes down to Camera, there is only one reason to buy a Pixel phone instead of another Android phone i.e. Google’s software. It’s cleaner and less cluttered than other versions of Android, it’s guaranteed to get at least three years of timely software updates. Perhaps, Google’s software makes the Pixel camera so good.
The photography of Pixel 4A is good not because of the camera hardware But due to its software. There’s a single 12.2-megapixel optically stabilized sensor on the back (with a flash); it’s the same Sony IMX363 sensor that Pixels have used since the Pixel 3.Similarly, There’s also a single 8-megapixel sensor on the front.
And though it doesn’t have multiple rear cameras like, say, the Galaxy A51 or the original Pixel 4, it takes very little effort to get the Pixel 4A to spit out a good and great photo.
These cameras are particularly impressive in the dark. Their night modes are great can take pictures in very low light thanks to its Night Sight feature —especially at this segment of price. Likewise, there is 4A’s astrophotography mode as well if you love clicking stars moon at night. You can zoom up to 7x, and the Pixel does a better-than-average job of keeping details at that crop.
Shooting video is also great. The Pixel 4A uses a combination of optical image stabilization and software to stabilize footage. Although, there’s no wide-angle or telephoto lens.
